Models of Collection

The models can be summarily divided into two categories:

1: models on the scale, miniature version, on a precise scale, original.

2: models of popular art as those which the sailors made, intended to finish hung to the frame of the church of the village (object votive)

With time, the models on the scale, built by shipyards, architects and the first manufactures of the beginnings of the industrial revolution, were used like tools for demonstration or illustration in volume for the recording of a patent. Samuel Pepys, Lord of the British Admiralty at the 18th century, was one of the first to create a collection of models, today with the Maritime National Natural history museum. Historic Marine manufactured models, offered in gift to Heads of State or foreign dignitaries, for the Dutch government or several multinationals.
